Our cornstarch Helmets use polylactic acid (PLA) plastic made by fermenting the plant sugar and starch. The Museum has switched to PLA plastic helemts, as they are much more environmentally friendly and sustainable as it releases fewer greenhouse gases during production and does not include toxic materials.
