HISTORY WEEK 2022
This year the Museum is joining in again for History Week and jumping on board with the History Council’s theme, “Hands on History”.
Oral narratives hold a significant place in heritage conservation. These oral histories often allow people or the community to share past events from a personal perspective, carrying with it their voices, memories and meanings. The Museum of Fire is introducing a new drive to collect and preserve oral histories that relate to firefighting. These records will bolster the museum’s significant object, fleet and archival collections to further preserve the history of firefighting heritage in Australia.
Join in the fun throughout history week for our annual keynote presentation and a special "behind the scenes" tour of the museum!
