2024 Art Competition Shortlist

This year marks in time 140 years of service to the community by Fire and Rescue NSW. In honour of such a significant milestone the Museum of Fire invited primary school-aged children to produce artwork inspired by the theme of Blazing Through History for the 2024 Art Competition Exhibition.

Forming in 1884 and then known as the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, Fire and Rescue NSW would change and grow with the development of new technology and new techniques. Many significant fires have occurred over the years and these too have transformed the way that our fire brigade operates today.

The artworks that are on display were shortlisted for representing the history of fire, firefighting and fire safety, accompanied by artwork labels written by the child artists themselves.
