Accessibility

The Museum of Fire recognises and supports diversity and inclusion. We all have a fundamental right to access and enjoy the museum and to engage with the stories it tells. To this end, we offer a variety of services to ensure the accessibility of the museum and its collection.

Facilities

  • Single level access to all public areas of the museum

  • All computers are fitted out for accessibility access, with touch screens and switch adapted mice with trackballs

  • Accessible toilets are located inside the museum and outside in our picnic grounds.

  • Service dogs are welcome

Sensory friendly sessions

Sensory friendly sessions run every Thursday from 1:00pm - 4:30pm and is a free service to the public with museum admission fees. For three hours flashing lights and loud noises from interactive displays are turned off to accommodate for visitors who prefer a more quiet, sensory-friendly experience. There is no booking required, and for the duration of the Sensory Friendly Session everyone pays kids admission prices for entry - that's only $8.50!
