Junior Caretaker's Day 2021
Thanks to support from the Jane Goodall Institute and Roots and Shoots the Museum of Fire excited to share this special and unique opportunity.
Development is happening all around us and Penrith is no different. Recent years have seen the green spaces around the Museum disappear but here on site we are lucky enough to still have extensive grounds where children can play and explore with a "green sanctuary" developing here. This program will reintroduce children to the local environment and take them outside, away from all screens.
In this special program participating children will be taught how to garden from scratch and will be encouraged to get their hands dirty! They will help to establish a new garden in the Museum grounds that participants will be invited back to help care for in the future.
All participating children will also receive a plant that they can take home to care for themselves.
