In 2020 the Museum of Fire set out to hold the annual Doll, Bear and Craft Fair as we always have however the ongoing pandemic and government restrictions made holding the event impossible.
We appreciated your understanding and ongoing support as we attempted to re-hold the Fair in 2021 however once again, we faced Government restrictions that made holding the Fair impossible, so we turned our focus to 2022.
No one could have foreseen the impact of the last two years and what occurred in 2022 with the continual impact of the pandemic and multiple natural disasters.
Over the last two years the Museum was forced to close twice due to the pandemic and has had to evacuate three times due to the flood emergency that has gripped NSW.
As a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, the Museum relies on regular visitation to support its educational and heritage works. Every time the Museum’s doors close these impacts on the financial stability of the Museum.
For this reason, the instability of the last few years and the uncertainty of what the future holds with the constant rise in COVID cases that has circulated throughout the community has made staffing the Museum difficult at times. This has meant that the Museum’s Board of Directors have had to review many of the Museum’s operational activities.
After much deliberation and assessment, the Museum’s Board of Directors have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2022 Doll, Bear and Craft Fair.
All stallholders will be contact via email and through the mail to arrange a refund of your deposits.
